πŸ“Œ Milngavie, East Dunbartonshire / Stirling
β˜…β˜…β˜…

Mugdock Country Park straddles the border between well-heeled Dunbartonshire and the more rural county of Stirling. There’s more than enough to spend a good few hours here: despite being within easy reach of Glasgow, this varied green space has a proper countryside feel, with lochs and burns, moorland, fields and woodland to explore. There are also two ruined castles: Craigend and Mugdock – the latter of which is open to the public on certain dates, with good views from the top of the tower. Adventure playgrounds, BBQ areas, bike hire, orienteering courses and a visitor centre with cafe make it a fun family destination; paths also link up with Milngavie, Strathblane and the West Highland Way for those seeking something more strenuous.
