πŸ“Œ Gairloch, Highland
β˜…β˜…β˜…

The warm welcome we received here contrasted sharply with the building in which Gairloch Museum has been located since 2019: a Cold War nuclear bunker, with information panels arranged across and between bare concrete walls. The old lamp from Rubha Rèidh lighthouse catches the eye as you enter, surrounded by themes of the Picts, Gaelic heritage and religion. Head upstairs to view nature exhibits, wartime accounts and artefacts representing Highland crofting life, including a replica crofthouse.
