Welcome to the Seven Lochs Wetland Park: Scotland’s biggest heritage and nature park, spanning a vast area to the east of Glasgow‘s urban sprawl. The park encompasses five local nature reserves, a country park and – of course – seven lochs, with dozens of miles of paths spidering out to surrounding residential areas. Each of the lochs has its own access point and parking. If, however, you’d like to get a feel for the whole park in a single day, the official Seven Lochs Trail links four of the main water bodies – Hogganfield Loch, Frankfield Loch, Bishop Loch and Lochend Loch – with long sections of grassland and woodland in between, some more interesting than others. Our modified version adds in two more lochs along with the tourist attraction of Provan Hall, and connects to railway stations at either end to enable a linear walk.
