📌 The Trossachs, Stirling
★★
With gently rising, mostly forested slopes and assorted radio masts at its summit, Ben Gullipen isn’t the most scenic of the hills around Callander – and at just over 400 metres above sea level, it’s certainly far from the highest. However, the hill straddles the Highland Boundary Fault which helps form its steep northwesterly slopes, dropping away to reveal unexpectedly wonderful views of Loch Venachar, Ben Ledi and the Trossachs. Good paths and tracks ascend from the southern edge of Callander and eventually lead all the way to the top – though a map may come in handy at a few track junctions.
