📌 Breacleit, Great Bernera, Isle of Lewis
★★

This well-preserved iron-age broch / dun / roundhouse on Great Bernera sits in the middle of Loch Barabhat, with a stony causeway bridging the 40-metre gap to the lochan’s main shoreline. A signposted but boggy path provides access from the nearest road, about half a mile away. The ease of crossing the causeway itself depends on the water level, but often involves getting wet feet.
