Montrose is lucky to have two world-class beaches within a five mile radius. But aside from these – Lunan Bay and St Cyrus – there’s also ample sand much closer to hand, stretching three miles north to the mouth of the River North Esk from the golf course at Broomfield Links. There’s also a children’s “Splash Park”, cafes and a wide promenade – all located towards the southern end, off Trail Drive – and a line of very quickly eroding sand dunes.
