This varied circuit is a good way to explore the natural sights around Saline village β Saline Glen and Bandrum Hill β without having to walk along the road which divides the two. Saline Burn can be a bit of a trickle during dry spells (Saline Drip, perhaps?), but is a haven for woodland wildlife β we were lucky to spot a red squirrel on our last visit. Bandrum Hill is a different place altogether, with open fields and a golf course covering its windswept summit. A large standing stone and an estate folly (βThe Templeβ) add further interest; climb through the interior of the temple to reach the path which returns to Saline.

Wildlife: Red squirrel, frogs, mallard ducks & woodpigeons in Saline Glen. Sheep on Bandrum Hill.
