The castle atop Castle Hill in Cullen has long since crumbled away and disappeared, but recent restorations at the motte summit have allowed this spot to become a gathering place once again. There are excellent views from the base of the fluttering flag across the fishing suburb of Seatown, around the curve of Cullen Bay and inland towards the forested Bin of Cullen, with access from both the old railway line (now a cycle path) and from the estate of Cullen House.

๐Ÿ’ฌ From North Deskford Street it’s a 5-min walk to the viewpoint. From the north end of the street turn left on the old railway line, crossing a bridge. Castle Hill is ahead on the left; fork left & follow the clear path that winds up to the viewpoint.
