Pattack Falls is one of the smallest waterfalls we feature on SOBT, dropping perhaps barely over a metre as the River Pattack exits a short gorge near Kinloch Laggan. Scotland’s north-south watershed is nearby: water in the River Pattack flows west to eventually enter the sea at Loch Linnhe by Fort William, while a mile further east, the River Mashie is a tributary of the east-flowing River Spey. The pine forest setting is attractive, and the falls make an ideal stop-off on the scenic A86 connecting the Cairngorms and West Highlands. The best views are from below, but paths also climb up above the waterfall to further viewing areas. Note – this waterfall is separate from the more impressive Falls of Pattack a few miles further upstream – we have a separate walk route for these.
