πŸ“Œ Fhionnphort, Isle of Mull
β˜…β˜…β˜…

We had this quiet excursion to Tormore completely to ourselves on our July visit, despite the camper vans and tourist buses filling the streets at the start in Fionnphort. Pink granite excavated at Tormore quarry was once shipped off to Iona to build its beautiful abbey from the nearby, now crumbling pier. A track links the two, with a nice beach at the lower end and good views from the top level of the quarry. Apart from this stretch, paths are narrower and boggy at times; wearing waterproof boots would be wise.
