Rosebank, South Lanarkshire

Section between Milton-Lockhart and Crossford closed for path repairs; a diversion using minor roads looks possible, but is unlikely to be interesting! (checked December 2024)
This enjoyable section of the Clyde Walkway downstream of the more famous Falls of Clyde can be conveniently completed with the help of a bus route linking the start and finish. The path is nicely varied with woodland and farmland sections as well as the expected riverside stretches. After Crossford village the banks steepen before arrival at Stonebyres Falls. though views are restricted and the flow has sadly been tamed by a hydro scheme which channels most of the water away. Lanark is the attractive market town at the finish, with plenty of options for a well-earned drink.
