The River Divie is a tributary of the better known River Findhorn, with the two water courses joining just downstream of the Randolph’s Leap beauty spot near Logie Steading. The smaller tributary more than matches up in scenic terms: there are abundant rapids, cloaked in forest and overlooked by a well-built – and at times spectacular – path along the gorge rim. Dunphail House (private) marks the southern end of the route, after which woodland tracks lead back to the start. We first tried this walk many years ago but broken bridges rendered it all but impassable; happily all infrastructure issues have been fixed at the time of writing in 2024 and the circuit is accessible again – though one bridge still feels unnervingly shoogly, high on stilts above foaming rapids.
