The River Braan is a major tributary of the River Tay. The water course above the confluence has some enchanting corners, from the perfectly-perched Ossian’s Hall viewpoint above Black Linn Falls, to the jumble of boulders and rapids at Rumbling Bridge. This circuit – waymarked locally as the “Braan Walk” – explores both beauty spots before returning across the side of a hill further south. There are common sightings of red squirrels, while birds of prey often wheel above the trees.
