Glen Coe, Highland
★★★
The tranquil shoreline of Glencoe Lochan is one of the prettiest low level sights around Glencoe. Backed by the unmistakeable outline of the Pap of Glencoe, the landscape has a distinctly North American feel; the trees here were planted in the 1890s by estate owner Lord Strathcona in an attempt to please his homesick Canadian wife. The direct path to the lochan (waymarked in red) is suitable for all-terrain pushchairs, but the route described here is slightly more challenging, combining all three of the waymarked trails to access higher level views across Loch Leven.
