π Plockton, Highland

This straightforward ramble links the outskirts of Plockton to Duncraig Castle via a scenic shoreline path, along the other side of the bay to where the village is located. There are several spots where you can get down to the water’s edge for lovely views across this inlet of Loch Carron, and plenty of quiet woodland in between. The Kyle of Lochalsh railway line makes a faster journey with stations at both Plockton and Duncraig; the train can therefore be used either to access the walk or to shorten it, but check the timetable carefully as services are infrequent.
