📌 Crianlarich Hills, Stirling
★★★

The twin Munros of Cruach Ardrain (possibly stack of the high stream) and Beinn Tulaichean (Hill of hillocks) are linked together by an enjoyable grassy ridge which extends northwards in the direction of Crianlarich. Unfortunately the direct route up from this village to the start of the ridge at Grey Heights is impeded by forestry plantations, but starting from a layby on the A82 a little to the west enables a satisfying circular route, albeit with some boggy lower slopes and a pathless descent. The return alongside the River Falloch provides countless opportunities for a well-earned, post-walk paddle.

📝 Key info

▶ 16 km / 10 mi | ▲ 1170 m | ⌛ 6.5-7.5 hr

Features: △ Cruach Ardrain (1046 m, Munro); △ Beinn Tulaichean (946 m, Munro)

Tough | Gravel path to underpass than good track for first & last sections along River Falloch. There are reasonable paths on the ridges; ascent to Grey Heights is very boggy before a faint path improves things, while descent to Coire Earb is pathless but better going. Crossing the River Falloch on descent could be difficult in spate.

➡️ Clockwise circuit with extension to Beinn Tulaichean: start – Grey Heights – Cruach Ardrain – Beinn Tulaichean – Coire Cruaiche – Coire Earb – start via track through glen
