Carn Daimh is the 570-metre high point on the broad ridge rising behind Glenlivet Distillery; rain falling here may one day make it into a barrel of whisky. There are multiple worthwhile ascent options, often forming parts of Glenlivet Estate’s extensive waymarked trail network; this one starts from a car park near Tomnavoulin, a couple of miles up the glen from the distillery. The summit panorama is extensive, overlooking miles of heathery humps with Ben Rinnes dominating the northern skyline. And why not celebrate with a dram afterwards?
