📌 Torrisdale, Highland
★★★
Torrisdale Bay is a vast beach stretching between Torrisdale and Bettyhill on Scotland’s north coast, backed by the rocky hillock of Druim Chuibhe. Rivers at either end – the River Borgie and the River Naver – prevent direct access from both settlements, reserving the pristine sands for those who are prepared to walk half a mile or so from the nearest roads. The shipwreck of the SS John Randolph is prominent towards the west end of the beach at low tide.

💬 From the car park it’s a 15-min walk (each way) to the southwest end of the beach on a clear path with some burns / boggy patches to leap across (⬤ Easy). Descend to cross the River Borgie, then keep left.
Is the car park easily located? Many thanks
Hi Marisa. The car park location is mentioned in the “Location & info” section – you can click on the What3words link (in orange) to see the location of the car park on a map. If I recall correctly, the car park is not signposted.
