πŸ“Œ Teangue, Isle of Skye
β˜…β˜…β˜…

Talisker is the whisky distillery most closely associated with the Isle of Skye, but since 2017 there’s been a second: Torabhaig, on the southerly Sleat peninsula. The project was the brainchild of merchant banker Sir Iain Noble, who moved to the island and gained planning permission for the distillery before passing away in 2010. Since then, Mossburn Distillers (a subsidiary of a Dutch parent company) have taken up the reins, beautifully converting a 19th century farm steading. Production takes place in a single long room – photos weren’t permitted in this part of the building on our visit, so the pictures below just show the outside of the buildings, plus visitor centre. Knock Castle sits nearby on a peninsula and can be visited by walking from the distillery car park; the perfect destination after sampling your island malt.
