📌 Inverness, Highland
★★

St Mary’s was the first Catholic church to be built in Inverness following the Reformation, dating to 1837. Standing on the west bank of the River Ness just across from the city centre, it’s one of a chain of interesting churches on both sides of the river, and its doors seem to open to visitors most days. From the embankment opposite the entrance there are great views upstream towards Inverness Castle.
