St Mary the Virgin is the active Church of England church on Lindisfarne, located at the south end of Holy Island village next to Lindisfarne Priory. The current building dates mostly from the 13th century, and continued as a parish church after Lindisfarne Priory was closed by Henry VIII in 1537. Today, the highlight of the interior perhaps being the beautiful stained-glass windows above the altar.
