๐Ÿ“Œ Boddam, Shetland Mainland
โ˜…โ˜…

This interesting attraction a few miles north of Sumburgh Airport takes visitors back to the 1870s, showing them what living in a thatched crofthouse may have been like then. Box beds, peat fire, cattle byre, barn with corn drying kiln and great storytelling from staff make for an atmospheric experience – and a pleasingly cosy one on a cool and wet day such us our visit. There’s also a restored water mill to see, and the site has views over the rocky coastline nearby to the east.
