πŸ“Œ Muness, Isle of Unst, Shetland Isles
β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…

This is probably our favourite beach on Unst: half a mile from the nearest road end in a remote corner of the island, and therefore never busy. A path makes access easy enough, despite copious sheep poo! Sandwick Beach also has the added interest of a cluster of early history sites nearby: an iron age house and Norse longhouse (half-submerged in sand) at the back of the bay, and a Viking chapel at the north end next to a cemetery.
