On an island with a host of excellent beaches, the Sand of Rothiesholm probably tops the pile. Over a mile of white sand extends around the northern extremity of the sheltered Bay of Holland, with a reputation for rare and beautiful shells. We’re not qualified to comment on the former, but our visit certainly confirmed the latter. Try to aim for low tide.
