Venture out from central Perth and you’ll find pockets of attractive green space on three sides. On the east side, just across the River Tay, is Rodney Gardens. This compact park dazzles with its colourful plant displays, with roses adding another dimension earlier in the summer and a small pond on the north side. The area is only one part of the longer River Tay Public Art Trail – a sculpture walk running in ribbons along both banks of Scotland’s longest river. Check it out if you have a couple of hours to spare.
