This attractive cove at the end of the main road to the north end of Lewis comes furnished with an intricate double harbour and a few hundred metres of splendid sand, pockmarked with a few rocky outcrops. The synonymous village (sometimes anglicised to Port of Ness) contains a handful of small shops and galleries, plus a couple of food and drink options; we had a good lunch at The Breakwater, perched just above the inner harbour.
