Norwick Beach is the northernmost sandy beach of significant size on the Isle of Unst – and therefore in the British Isles (pedants could also check out the small beach at Wick of Skaw, a mile further north). Visitors share the views of cliffs and scrubby pasture with a handful of cottages; the usual peaceful scenes may be occasionally interrupted in future by rockets blasting off from nearby SaxaVord Spaceport, located on the headland nearby to the northeast.
