๐Ÿ“Œ Strathyre, Stirling
โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…

Quintessentially Trossach-ian in character, slender Loch Lubnaig snakes through hills sprinkled in forest for around 4 miles, fed primarily by the River Balvaig and drained by the River Leny. The easiest option is to view it from the roller-coaster A84 along the east bank, with a couple of useful car parks right by the shoreline. If you don’t mind expending a little more effort, leave most of the tourists and tour buses behind by walking or cycling south from Strathyre (or north from the Pass of Leny) along the more tranquil west side, following a dismantled railway line-turned-Rob Roy Way long distance path. There are also excellent views along the loch from Ben Ledi and Ben Shian.
