πŸ“Œ Knockando, Moray
β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…

This historic waulk mill on Knockando Burn is a real hidden gem, and certainly worth a visit if you’re touring the quiet part of Speyside around Cardhu Distillery. Established in 1784, the mill has been in continuous operation for over 200 years and now weaves a mixture of classic and contemporary clothing, blankets and numerous other beautiful textiles. Guided tours can be booked in advance, but the self guided tour with the help of a leaflet and information panels is also excellent. Several buildings are open to the public including several viewpoints for the production areas, the former shop and office, and a large conservation workshop.
