📌 Inverurie, Aberdeenshire

This ruined, 12th century church a couple of miles outside Inverurie looks plain on the outside, but has two notable interior features added by the church rector in the 1520s: a cross-shaped sacrament house and a crucifixion scene (the latter replaced by a metal replica). Also look out for the finely carved grave slab of the knight Gilbert de Greenlaw, who was killed at the nearby Battle of Harlaw in 1411.
