📌 Haddington, East Lothian
★★

The museum on the first floor of the glass-fronted John Gray Centre in Haddington briefly showcases the life and history of East Lothian, of which Haddington is the county capital. The displays get a rare maximum 5-star rating from Visit Scotland, the country’s national tourist agency, and we think this must be in part due to the way exhibits make imaginative use of touch, smell, sound and sight – with plenty for children to do. Some of information panels seemed a bit generic, but they provide a fair introduction to this mainly rural region of farming and fishing, along with temporary exhibitions.
