π Glenlivet, Moray

β
It may be one of the remotest corners of Moray, but this valley stretching south from Ballindalloch is home to one of the best known brands of Scotch, particularly in the US. Whisky production began at Glenlivet (legally, at least) in 1824; despite its old roots, the production and exhibition areas are housed in large, modern-looking buildings. Recent major extensions have increased production to over 10 million litres each year, with an opulent visitor centre alongside the enormous production area.
