๐Ÿ“Œ Fairlie, North Ayrshire
โ˜…โ˜…

The Glen Burn emanates from the Crosbie Hills between Fairlie and West Kilbride, dropping 250 metres in under two miles. We’ve visited two waterfalls on its short course, and the upper, more easily reached one is featured on this page (see here for the lower fall). The drop isn’t massive, but the surrounding overhanging rocks and bubbly plunge pool make for a pretty setting. Water levels can vary greatly depending on recent rainfall, with further complications caused by the reservoir just upstream.

๐Ÿ’ฌ From the parking spot it’s a 5-min walk to the waterfall. A path on the south side of the road leads downhill through scrub & heather to the burn. Turn left & follow the burn upstream a short distance to the waterfall – rocky / slippery on the final approach.
