πŸ“Œ East End, Glasgow

Hundreds of prominent stone memorials pepper the skyline to the east of Glasgow city centre. Welcome to the city Necropolis – this vast (37 acre) Victorian “garden cemetery” is draped across a hilly area above Glasgow Cathedral, and over 50,000 people are buried here, many commemorated by grand memorials, monuments and tombs. A cemetery seems an unusual place to explore unless you have personal connections, but it’s visually one of the most impressive in Europe.
