๐ Village in City of Edinburgh

The enchanting spot pictured above is one of Edinburgh‘s most captivating suburbs, and conveniently located just a 10 minute stroll from the west end of Princes Street: the capital’s main shopping thoroughfare. Dean Village – a village within a city – used to form the heart of Edinburgh’s milling industry, with mills well-established along the fast-flowing Water of Leith by the 12th century. Today it’s a delightfully photogenic amphitheatre of colourful and desirable residences, best enjoyed from the footbridge over the river just off Damside. Rusty-hued Well Court is one of the most striking buildings, commissioned by the owner of The Scotsman newspaper in the 1880s to accommodate his workforce. You can peer into the courtyard or even stay in one of the apartments converted into swanky holiday lets.
