📌 Spean Bridge, Highland
★★

On open hillside north of Spean Bridge, three bronze soldiers stand gazing out across Glen Spean. They are a memorial to the World War II British Commando Forces, who trained nearby at Achnacarry Castle and elsewhere across Lochaber. There is also a remembrance garden where the ashes of many commandos now rest. On a clear day, the monument commands excellent views of Ben Nevis (the UK’s highest summit) and Aonach Mòr.
