πŸ“Œ Lamlash, Isle of Arran
β˜…

In 2014 the seas around the southern half of the Isle of Arran became a Marine Protected Area, regulating certain types of activity to protect local marine life. Additionally, Lamlash Bay itself is a “no take zone” with even more stringent rules. The COAST visitor centre in Lamlash tells the story and outlines the benefits to nature, with a few tanks also housing rockpool creatures. It’s well worth popping in, perhaps before or after a trip to Holy Island which departs from the same village.
