πŸ“Œ Brora, Highland
β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…

Situated on the edge of Brora village on Sutherland’s east coast, Clynelish is the self-styled “Highland Home of Johnnie Walker” whisky, and probably one of the top 5 distillery tours we’ve ever been on. The distillery reopened to the public in spring 2021 following major refurbishment, with a striking new visitor centre fronted by a large-as-life Striding Man – the brand logo – dripping in wax as a nod to the spirit’s waxy character. The tour has been revamped too, with the usual circuit around the spacious production areas followed up with a paired whisky and chocolate tasting in the swish new bar. Over and above all this, we were wowed by the beautiful, interactive sensory room which accommodates the first part of the tour. Giving more details here would spoil the surprise – you’ll just have to book a visit yourself.
