πŸ“Œ Shiprow, Aberdeen City
β˜…β˜…β˜…

Aberdeen is first and foremost a port city, and one of the quirkier attractions here is the excellent Maritime Museum on Shiprow: a cobbled arc connecting the harbour with the city centre. The region’s seagoing history is comprehensively covered, from shipbuilding to whaling, fishing and the oil, gas and renewable energy sector – including a large-scale replica of a North Sea oil platform. Displays are spread over four floors and two adjacent buildings: a modern, glass-fronted construction and a 16th century stone one (the second oldest house in the city) which once belonged to Provost John Ross.
