π Dalavich, Argyll & Bute

The River Avich exceeds expectations! Despite being one of Argyll’s shortest rivers at just over a mile in length, it manages to pack in a whole series of extremely pretty, stepped waterfalls – not notable for their height, but pleasingly photogenic. The main falls even have a picnic bench, so they could make the perfect lunch spot (aside from the potential midges). We were quite taken with the place – dippers hopping from rock to rock, the sounds of falling water, and not too many other visitors to share the spectacle with.
