๐Ÿ“Œ Huisinis, Isle of Harris
โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…

Huisinis beach is the only significant stretch of sand in North Harris directly accessible by road. The beach itself is ample reward for negotiating 13 miles of largely single-track tarmac from the main highway down the island’s spine, but Highland cows on and around the approach road provide a further big draw for many visitors. At low tide there’s 400 metres of sand to pad across: it’s a popular spot, but only a handful of parking spaces, you’re unlikely to find it too crowded. “Huisinis Gateway” (as the car park is named) also has excellent indoor picnic and toilet facilities, and provides the start point for walks to the even quieter beaches around Crabhadail.
