White Castle is an early Iron Age hill fort with a prominent position on the northern edge of the Lammermuir Hills. The outer defensive ditches can be clearly seen from the road which passes the fort’s south side, and you can walk down to the fort itself too. Worth a short detour if you’re in the wider area.
