During a storm in 1992, shifting sand dunes behind Bosta Beach revealed the walls of an iron-age settlement. After a period of excavation the settlement was buried under the sand once again, but a replica house has been constructed nearby which is open to the public during the summer. Allow a few minutes for your eyes to adjust to what initially appears to be a pitch-black interior, and eventually quite a lot can be made out (see photos below). Our visit was led by an extremely knowledgeable guide, lasting 30 minutes or so.
