Go Ape’s newest treetop adventure is strung across the grounds of Dalkeith Country Park, just a mile from Edinburgh‘s city bypass. This must be Scotland’s most easily accessible outdoor high ropes venue, so it’s understandably popular, but the course is designed to absorb large numbers of adventurers, with multiple stages which can be tackled in any order. Highlights (on the Treetop Challenge main course) include 11 zip wires criss-crossing the River North Esk and 29 crossings threading between sturdy conifers. Allow 1-2 hours; a head for heights is required.
