📌 Guestrow, Aberdeen City
★★★

Dating to 1545, Provost Skene’s House is Aberdeen’s oldest surviving townhouse. The building sits just a short distance from Union Street but may be a little tricky to locate for non-locals; it now sits amidst (and is rather dwarved by) the new Marischal Square complex which has recently sprung up around it. The attraction reopened in 2021 after major refurbishment and now houses smart displays about notable Aberdonians, with each room dedicated to a particular field of study or talent such as medicine, sport or literature.
