📌 Ferness, Highland
★★

Dulsie Bridge offers a rare glimpse over one of the prettiest spots of the wild River Findhorn – a turbulent water course which offers some wonderful scenery but is often difficult to access due to steep and rough terrain (unless you are an experienced white water enthusiast!). The arched road bridge dates to 1755 and stands 60 feet above the riverbed. Aside from the bridge parapet itself, there are three possible viewpoints to seek out – details below.

💬 For the main viewpoint (aside from on the bridge itself), follow the clear path a little way to the west (upstream) for reasonable views of the bridge from above ( Easy), though partly obscured by tree growth in 2021 and 2024 compared with previous visits. For the upper viewpoint, a rougher path beyond descends to the river bank well upstream of the bridge for views of the gorge only – there is no bridge view from here. For the lower viewpoint (with the best views of the bridge), another rough path descends steeply from the north side of the bridge ( Moderate). Grippy footwear recommended for the latter two viewpoints.
