πŸ“Œ Heritage railway in Alford, Aberdeenshire
β˜…β˜…

A short narrow gauge railway provides one of the more unusual ways to travel between Alford village and Haughton Country Park. There are good views over the local golf course and beyond across the flat, fertile Howe of Alford from the mile or so of track; check the timetable so you can return on a later train after exploring the park. After several years of closure and a subsequent renovation project, the railway reopened to passengers in spring 2025 – good news!
