πŸ“Œ Tarbert, Argyll & Bute
β˜…β˜…

Tarbert Castle stands guard over Tarbert village, defending the narrow strip of land preventing Kintyre from becoming an island. Surrounding grassy earthworks suggest this was once a grand site, with a large curtain wall and several outbuildings. The 15th century tower house is the only surviving stone structure, now a ruin and surrounded by a herd of sheep. The views alone are worth the short climb up from the village.
